MURDER OF MISS INIUBONG UMOREN: CULPRIT(S) MUST BE EXPEDITIOUSLY AND CONCLUSIVELY PROSECUTED.

The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is indeed pained by the sad news of the abduction, rape and subsequent murder of Miss Iniubong Umoren, 26, a graduand of Philosophy, University of Uyo and an indigene of Oruk Anam Local Government Area.
Information from the desk of the Police Public Relation Officer(PPRO) Akwa Ibom State command is that the late Iniubong Umoren was lured by one Mr Uduak Frank Akpan, 20 years, under the guise of providing her a job. The House unreservedly condemns this outrageous and dastardly act in strong terms.
We urge security agencies and the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to be proactive and expedient in their investigations and prosecution of culprit(s) accordingly.
In the interim, the Speaker has directed the House Committee on Security in partnership with relevant security agencies to undertake a holistic investigation into the matter and brief the House within the shortest possible time for further legislative action.
We commiserate the deceased family and the people of Oruk Anam State Constituency and pray the good Lord the fortitude upon them to forge ahead.
