Agbado Lagos Chronicles – Ketu To Idimu 1000 Naira Last !

Charity Mirabel.

Yesterday, I stand for road tire.
I stood for minutes looking for a bus that would carry me for at least ₦700 from ketu to Idimu.
I priced till I was even ashamed of myself.
Not like anybody cared, because a large number of people trekked.
Nobody is forming again; we have all been humbled at the town hall and transportation has become a bala blu.
If my house was close, I would have trekked, but if I tried it, I would faint five times before I reached home.
After standing for long, I accepted my fate and entered the bus for ₦1000
I still needed like ₦300 extra to take keke when I alight from the bus but, it was clear to me I will have to trek it since I had no other money on me.
Few minutes after I entered, another man entered and asked the price
Driver: enter with your ₦1000
The man: Ah, is it not ₦700? I will pay you ₦700
Me: Abi oh, collect ₦700 from us na
Driver: Oga na ₦1000
The Man: Please I will give you ₦900, it’s what I have, take….
At this point the driver was not having it again. You know how impatient Lagos drivers can be. He came over to the back to meet the man himself.
Driver: Oga, come down, make another person enter. Commot abeg.
The man: I’m not going anywhere.
Driver: you say wetin? Na you buy motor for me?
Wahala! The man refused to go down oh, he turned over his pockets for the driver to see that the ₦900 was the only money on him and that his shege had entered banza.
The driver just left him because the man was determined to get home at all costs.
In this Lagos, people survive with a touch of m*dness.
