The Sick, Racist Message Behind Why Trump Chose That Particular Gun Store
There are 10s of thousands of places you can look at guns in the US and Trump randomly ends up at this gun store? I know there are decent conservative people out there still. I know you don’t want to be “woke” but you at least need to wake up. This man is not okay. It is not a coincidence he ended up at that gun store.
During a campaign trip to South Carolina, Donald Trump took some time to visit the gun store that sold weapons to the racist Jacksonville, Florida, mass shooter.
Trump visited Palmetto State Armory on Monday, where he admired a handgun engraved and decorated in his honor. He repeatedly said he wanted to buy a gun there—which would be a violation of federal law given his many indictments.
A lot of the media has focused on whether Trump actually purchased a gun and violated the law, but less attention has been paid to Trump’s decision to visit Palmetto State Armory, as opposed to any other gun store in South Carolina.
In late August, a white man opened fire in a Dollar General store in a predominantly Black Jacksonville neighborhood, killing three people, all of whom were Black. The shooter, who then killed himself, used a Glock handgun and an AR-47 semiautomatic rifle, at least one of which was painted with a swastika. Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters said the shooter “hated Black people” and acted alone.
At least one of the guns came from Palmetto State Armory, a store in Summerville, South Carolina. The Jacksonville sheriff’s office d photos of the firearms used in the attack on its Facebook page. One of the guns is clearly engraved with the Palmetto State Armory logo. The shooter had also drawn swastikas on the gun.
When the Jacksonville shooting happened, Trump did not issue any statement on the tragedy. But you could argue that this campaign stop is a kind of tacit statement. He put the spotlight on Palmetto State Armory, praised its inventory, and tried to offer it business.
Palmetto State Armory has openly embraced far-right ideology. In 00, it began marketing its products using imagery and language associated with the “boogaloo,” slang for racist violence and even a call for full-on race war. It has also come to mean war to topple the government.
The Jacksonville shooter shouldn’t have been able to buy the guns in the first place. He was held in Florida state custody in 0 for mental health issues, disqualifying him from owning a gun under a statute called the Baker Act.
With so many eyeballs on Trump, Palmetto State Armory would never have gotten away with selling him a gun. But as Philadephia Inquirer columnist Will Bunch pointed out, the store “could sell an AR- to a young, mentally troubled white supremacist.
Why is it so difficult for people to do research? We live in the Information Age. It takes literally seconds to find out the truth.
Yes, if Donald were to purchase a gun, he would be committing a crime, even though he hasn’t been convicted of anything.
Look up the Gun Control Act, USC § , para (d) and para (n). According to that federal law, if a person is under indictment for any crime that carries at least a year potential prison sentence, then:
A. It is a federal felony for any gun store to sell that person a gun.
B. It is a federal felony for that person to “receive” a gun. (That means either purchasing a gun or accepting it as gift.)
Under indictment. Not “convicted.” That’s federal law. Period, end of discussion.

If you watch the video you’ll notice that the guy holding the gun is actually pointing it around a room full of people and for a second he was even pointing it at Trump himself! The first thing you learn or should have been taught as a child about gun safety is that you never point a gun at anyone, even if you have checked and you know it is unloaded, you ALWAYS treat a gun as if it was loaded and could go off at at any time. That’s like just the most basic gun safety lesson out there. Apparently this guy never got that lesson.
I’m a life long gun owner and live in Charleston. I managed a gun shop here for years. Palmetto State Armory came to be when everyone got in on the AR confiscation scare and they were one of the first to start pumping out inexpensive AR rifles during the second term of Obama. They then opened a store in Columbia SC and then more cities in our State. I had one transfer experience with them in Charleston and despite their low transfer fee will never go in one again. Salesman that don’t know what they are selling and a system that is ridiculous for doing their background checks. The shop I used to manage may be old school but is light years better than Palmetto is. So your point is one more reason a place like that is not setting a good example for the firearms community. Was the guy not the owner of the whole business too ?

I saw that! I’m a licensed gun owner. I was taught to shoot by my sisters ex-husband and the very first thing he taught was NEVER point a gun in ANYONE’S direction even if you are 00% sure it’s unloaded. Always point up or down. If I walked into a gun shop and the owner is handling a gun like that I’d turn right around and leave! Secret Service was probably hoping for an accident. I’m sure they are sick of working his detail!

It is being reported that Trump even holding a gun that was involved in interstate commerce is a violation of the law that prevents such behavior from a person facing a federal indictment. Any chance that it would impact him in the federal courts’ restrictions on him? Unfortunately, I highly doubt it.

All of our safeguards, separate branches of government, the th amendment, Congress, ethics committees, and basically our entire government have failed to stop this man who was inevitable to the Founders. “Let’s enforce the gun laws we already have.” This story is a limited hang-out for the fact that Trump bought or attempted to buy a gun illegally at that gun shop. Federal law says that it’s illegal to provide a gun to someone under indictment, whether by sale or gift. It’s also illegal for a person under indictment to transport or ship a weapon, or to “receive any firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.” Trump needs to be charged on a weapons violation, right, cons?

You don’t need to know or care about anything related to Trump’s politics, personal drama/scandals, or the indictments to know that he’s a despicable excuse of a human being. Say you don’t believe any of it, say it’s all a sham, made up conspiracy and unfair witch hunt all you want… At the end of the day, all you have to do is listen to the words that come out of his mouth, and observe his actions. It’s very simple. He’s disgusting, and dangerous, and not fit for any office except one inside a prison.

On the tape the store spokesman tried to GIVE Defendant Trump the pistol, which would have been a felony for donor and for recipient. The Attorney General of the State of South Carolina – a Republican, naturally – was standing right there watching Defendant Trump criming. The AG’s brother is among the gun store’s ownership, and their ever loving daddy is a Republican member of the US House of Representatives.
