Monday’s protest at the Giyani campus called off!

The protest action which was scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, 12 April 2021 by the students of the Letaba Tvet College, Giyani campus, appears to have been cancelled.

Giyani View can confirm that the students representative have written a memo of requests to the college leadership, and as it stands, the college has not yet responded.

Students demand that those who do not have the means to pay their fees shouldn’t be expelled from the college.

It is understood that only 2% of new students in the 2021 academic year were funded by National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) and only 1% of previous students received fundings.

This caused a dozen students to drop-out between March and April 2021.
