Again, Buhari Holds Security Meeting With Service Chiefs
President Muhammadu Buhari has again summoned another crucial meeting of the National Security Council; as they continue to seek solutions to the security challenges in the nation.
President Muhammadu Buhari is presiding over the Security Meeting the third in the series at the State House.
The meeting summoned by the President on Friday the 30th of April, 2021 continues today at the First Lady’s Conference room.
Those in attendance include the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, and Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.

Others include Minister of Defence, Major-General Bashir Magashi (Rtd), and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (Rtd.)
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, Chief of Army Staff; Lieutenant-General Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Naval Staff; Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amoo and acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba are also attending the crucial meeting.
There are indications that the security meeting which anchors on stemming the nation’s insecurity crisis and has remained inconclusive would be wrapped up today.
The meeting held today, May 5 is an offshoot of previous security meetings convened on May 4, 2021, and April 30, 2021, at the State House in Abuja.
Every member of the national security council who attended the previous meetings are present at this one as well.
The National Security Adviser (NSA) to the President, Babagana Monguno while addressing journalists following adjournment of the meeting held on May 4 said the adjournment was necessary in order to receive further briefings from the security chiefs.
In a statement he personally signed after the meeting, Monguno stated that the country’s security architecture was determined to decisively end the assault on the country by criminal elements.
