The event took place at the Victory Cathedral, Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo.

Senator OBA, as he is widely known, represents Akwa Ibom North East and is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream).

Presenting the award, Chairman of the PFN, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, Bishop Emmanuel Etim said the essence of the award was to encourage Senator Albert and other recipients, not to relent in contributing positively to the growth of the society, irrespective of challenges they may encounter.

Responding, Senator Albert said the award is a call to greater service.

He appreciated the people of Akwa Ibom North East for the opportunity to represent them in the Red Chamber. Senator OBA promised to adhere to the social contract he signed with the people to protect their interests at all times.

A sum of Senator Albert’s recent empowerment schemes revealed that no fewer than 5,000 youths and women have been trained on several skills acquisition programmes and given start-up grants since his re-election to the Senate in 2019.

Moreover, at least 300 undergraduates in higher institutions are beneficiaries of his scholarship scheme which was launched in 2016.
